Three things go in. One show comes out.
.xlsx or .csv · every cue is a timecode, a label, and the note to call.
MTC over USB MIDI, LTC over any audio input, or the built-in test clock.
The current note fills the screen and a voice calls every standby and GO, on the stamp.
It was built for followspot calling, but it reads whatever you put in the CUE column: spot pickups, scenic moves, pyro standbys, mic handoffs, anything that happens on a timecode stamp. If the show jumps, rewinds, or the console restarts, it re-finds its place instantly. No stale GOs, no double calls.
The clock is the truth. Green clock = signal locked, cues will fire. Red clock = signal gone, frozen on the last frame it heard. Red mid-show? Check your timecode feed, not the app.
Go to cuecaller.app/app in Chrome (the tested browser for MIDI + audio). Log in with the email and password you set from your invite. Forgot it? Use Forgot password on the login screen.
Open Show → Sessions, set the artist filter to The Atlas Echo, and load VIP DEMO SHOW · Manual Example. Arm Test on the source switch next to the clock. The show starts ten seconds later and runs itself.
Click any cue in the right-hand list (or any song in the set list) to jump straight there. This is the fastest way to feel how it behaves before you trust it live.
Open Show → Template (press O) for the styled .xlsx starter. Fill in your cues, then Show → Load Cue Sheet File or just drag the file anywhere onto the page.
Only three columns are truly required: Timecode, Label, CUE (the CUE column is what gets spoken). Add a NOTES column for text you want on the card but not spoken out loud. The rest just sharpens the call (see below). New here? Tap Get the Google Sheet Template in Show → Template for a ready-made sheet. Prefer the cloud? Paste a Google Sheet link in Show → Load & Link and re-pull edits mid-rehearsal with the ↻ button in the header. Bonus: color a cell in your sheet and that cue wears the color on screen.
Arm a source on the switch next to the clock: MTC (MIDI over USB), LTC (audio into any input), or Test (internal clock, no cables). Chrome will ask for MIDI or mic permission the first time. Allow it.
Roll timecode and confirm the clock turns green and the frame rate reads right. LTC won't lock? Open Settings → Inputs and read the per-channel meter.
Press S for Settings → the Voice Calls tab. Turn on Call cues out loud, set your prefix if your department needs one (e.g. "Spots" → "Standby Spots… Spots, GO!"), or leave it blank for calls with no prefix, and dial Standby lead, GO pre, rate, and volume.
Pick a voice without a · cloud tag so calls keep coming if venue wifi dies, then hit ▶ Test call to audition it. (Free premium offline voices install in 2 minutes. The Manual shows how.)
Rehearse once in TEST before you ever plug into a console. Five minutes clicking through your cue list catches a bad stamp or a weird call long before soundcheck does.
You can ignore all of these and still run a show. They're here because they save real time.
On Production, a Department dropdown lets one show file carry separate lanes: spots, lighting, audio, video, pyro, and more. Each seat picks its lane and hears only its own calls. Start from the Production template (a MASTER tab that feeds a department tab you copy per department), or add a Department column.
With your show loaded, open Show → Offline and hit Save for Offline, then install CueCaller as an app (⇩ Install App in Chrome, or File → Add to Dock in Mac Safari). It runs with no internet. LTC, MTC, and voice all work. For shows, use Chrome or Mac Safari.
CUE is spoken. NOTES shows on the card but stays silent. Put your callout in CUE and context in NOTES. Leave CUE blank, or wrap it in (parentheses), for a card that fires at its stamp with nothing called. Wrap in *asterisks* to read the text once with no standby or GO, perfect for pyro warnings and walk-ons.
When the clock stops, step through your cues with the arrow keys. Down or right moves forward, up or left steps back. The moment real timecode moves again, CueCaller snaps back to the live cue automatically.
Drop {venue} {city} {date} (and more) into your spot meeting or notes; CueCaller fills them from the show-info block at load. Change two cells per city and the speech rewrites itself.
Give a cell a background fill in your sheet and that cue carries the color on screen: dot and rail in the cue list, soft wash on the cue cards. Fill a song in [ SET LIST ] to color its whole section. Works from .xlsx and Google Sheets alike.
O show hub · S settings · M mute · F fullscreen · Esc closes any dialog. That's all of them.
Tape this to the inside of your skull. Six steps, every night.
Load the show: session, sheet link, file, or the installed offline app on the show laptop.
Check the footer: right show, right rev, right cue count. Two seconds that save a night.
Arm MTC or LTC, roll timecode, confirm the clock goes green and the fps reads right.
Voice check: ▶ Test call at house volume. Offline voice (no · cloud tag), rate and volume where the crew likes them.
Tap Run Department for the pre-show meeting (or Shortened Meeting when time is short).
F for fullscreen. Watch the first standby land. You're running.
